The principle objective of the project is to sustain and support the technological innovation in SMEs belonging to the manufacturing machinery Industry Sector. In particular the project aims to promote dissemination of RTD EU funded projects results, to support the introduction of IT based facilities in SMEs and to assist companies in the establishment of co-operative IT based research projects.

The Consortium is made by:
  • ETAss – European Trends Association (I),
  • UIL – Unione Industriali di Lecco (I),
  • SIII – Sistemas Intergrados de Informatica Industrial (P)

The project Consortium will further aim to promote and render more intelligible to SMEs in the manufacturing machinery industry the concept of Information Society.

This will be achieved by providing awareness activities to demonstrate the results of Community projects and in turn assist SMEs to achieve maximum optimisation and utilisation of the EU projects results in the areas of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Electronic Commerce.

The consortium will also provide those essential services enabling the SMEs user group to implement the "best business practices" deriving from the European Information Society results that will in turn lead to innovative business processes through new management techniques and with the support of IT.

In order to the expected results the Consortium foresees to develop and customise a self assessment methodological framework through a questionnaire that will form the basis for determining the user requirements needs of SMEs.

Through the web site -that will be created and periodically up dated, it will be possible promote all on going initiatives, services available and BBP database links. Both a newsletter –which will be generated at the commencement of the 6th month of the project and then intermittently for the duration of the project, and the checklist will be available on the web.
